"Evidence-based" has to mean something
Every app says it on its first screen. This page spells out what it means inside Fitorex: where recommendations come from, how uncertainty is flagged, and what happens when the literature changes its mind.
- 21guides and lessons inside the app
- 40cited references
- 187terms in the glossary
- 20myths debunked with sources
Rules we hold ourselves to
1. The source, up front
Every meaningful claim carries its reference and its certainty level. If something rests on a single small study, it says so — it isn't presented like a systematic review.
2. What isn't known gets said
Exercise physiology carries more uncertainty than fits in a headline. When the honest answer is "it depends" or "nobody knows", that's what you get.
3. Effect before novelty
What moves the needle — enough protein, sleep, training close to failure consistently — comes first. Marginal things are labelled marginal.
4. Nothing you can't verify
The glossary, the guides and the references ship inside the app. You can follow the thread from a recommendation to the study without leaving it and without a connection.
What uncertainty looks like in practice
| Claim | How Fitorex treats it |
|---|---|
| "You need 1.6–2.2 g of protein per kg" | High certainty. Consistent meta-analyses. Used to compute your target. |
| "Weekly volume per muscle has a sweet spot" | Moderate certainty. There is a range, not a number. You get landmarks, not dogma. |
| "There is a 30-minute anabolic window" | Debunked. It is in the myths list, with the reference that takes it apart. |
| "Supplement X boosts testosterone" | No useful evidence. It sits in the bottom tier of the supplements entry. |
The same rigour, in your language
Rigour is not jargon. A beginner and someone with ten years under the bar need the same truth told differently.
- The app tunes its jargon to your experience level: "RIR" gets explained until it no longer needs to be.
- The 187-term glossary is embedded: tap an underlined word and its definition appears.
- Neutral Latin American Spanish and English, with search that understands regional synonyms.
- Everything works offline: the references are not links that rot.
When we get it wrong
The literature moves and so do we. If you find a recommendation that no longer holds, write to us with the reference: somatryx.dev@gmail.com. Fixing a guide is a content update, not a new app version — it reaches you without reinstalling anything.Check for yourself
