Frequently asked questions
What we get asked most, answered without spin. If yours isn't here, write to us and we'll add it.
Is Fitorex really free?
Yes. The app is currently available in full with no payment, no ads and no locked features.
When subscriptions activate, five features will move to Premium and the rest stays free —
it's all laid out on Pricing.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use the whole app as a guest, and in that mode your data never leaves your device.
An account is only needed to sync across devices, sign in to the web dashboard and use Fito
without bringing your own AI key.
Does it work offline?
Yes, and it isn't a "limited offline mode": the exercises, animations, foods, guides and
calculators all ship inside the app. The only things that need a connection are syncing,
talking to Fito and looking up a product that isn't in the local database.
Is it for beginners or only advanced lifters?
Both. The app works out your level from your own numbers and adjusts your starting volume, the
techniques it offers and even the jargon it uses. A beginner won't be offered rest-pause sets,
and won't get "RIR" thrown at them without an explanation.
Does it work if I train at home?
Yes. When your routine is built you pick the equipment you have — from a full gym to bodyweight
only — and the library filters accordingly. On top of that, "Adapt today" rebuilds the session
with dumbbells or no kit at all on a day you can't make it.
Which watches are supported?
Fitorex ships its own app for Wear OS, Apple Watch, Garmin and HarmonyOS. Any
other device — Fitbit, Zepp, Amazfit, Whoop, Oura, Polar, Suunto — works too as long as it
writes to Apple Health or Health Connect, which is where Fitorex reads from.
Does Fitorex write to my health data?
Never. The permissions it asks for are read-only. Fitorex does not create,
modify or delete anything in Apple Health or Health Connect, and you can revoke the
permissions at any time without breaking the app.
Is my data sold or shared?
No. There is no third-party analytics, there are no ad SDKs and no identifiers are shared with
anyone. If you use sync, your data is encrypted in transit and the server rules only allow you
to access your own document.
What exactly is "effective volume"?
It's a set count weighted by how close to failure you stopped. At 4 reps in reserve or fewer a
set counts in full; at 5–6 it counts as half; at 7 or more, a quarter. That way your weekly
volume reflects real stimulus rather than how many times you sat on the machine. There's a
full explanation on Training.
Do I have to weigh my food?
No. You can log in household measures — "2 eggs", "1 cup of rice", "1 tablespoon of oil" — and
Fitorex does the conversion. All 2,160 foods in the database carry their measures, not just
the popular ones.
Is the AI reliable? Can I trust what Fito says?
Fito answers from the app's reviewed content and cites the guide each claim
comes from, so you can check it. Even so, an AI can be wrong: that's why it shows its source
instead of asking for faith. And it diagnoses nothing and replaces no health professional.
Can I use my own AI key?
Yes, and it's unlimited and free. With your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or DeepSeek key, the
conversation goes straight from your device to the provider: Fitorex neither sees nor stores it.
Is there a Windows or Mac app?
No, and that's a decision rather than a gap. Fitorex is used standing up between sets, on your
phone or watch. To review your numbers sitting down there's the
web dashboard: sign in from any
browser, nothing to install.
How do I switch phones without losing anything?
Sign in with the same account on the new device and let it sync. If you'd rather not use an
account, export your data from Settings → Privacy and data → Export and import it on
the new phone. Progress photos never travel through the cloud: those you move yourself.
How do I delete my account and my data?
From inside the app, at Settings → Account → Delete account and all my data. It's
immediate and permanent. You can also request it by email; the steps and exactly what gets
deleted are on this page.
What languages is it in?
Neutral Latin American Spanish and English, across the app, the watches and this site. Search
also understands regional variants, so "palta" finds "aguacate" and vice versa.
I found a bug or something that is no longer accurate. Where do I report it?
Email somatryx.dev@gmail.com. If it's an outdated
recommendation, send the reference: fixing a guide arrives as a content update, with nothing
to reinstall.
Question not here?
Write to somatryx.dev@gmail.com. A person answers, not a form, and usually the same day.All clear
